About Damla

With over a decade of experience in the nutrition field, Damla is a registered and licensed dietitian who has dedicated her career to helping people achieve their health goals. Her expertise lies in weight management, diabetes, bariatric surgery and kidney diseases. Damla is a former researcher and she is a strong advocate for evidence-based nutrition advice, always staying on top of latest nutrition research. Damla grew up in Western Turkey with Mediterranean diet, and is an expert in integrating principles of it to medical nutrition therapy.

Approach to care

Damla believes in a simple and sustainable approach to medical nutrition therapy and behavior change counseling, helping patients improve their diet in a way that seamlessly fits into their lifestyle. Her approach emphasizes reaching disease management goals without sacrificing quality of life.

Your first session with Damla

In your first session together, Damla will ask many questions to get to know you and will conduct a thorough nutrition assessment. First appointment is where you will discuss your medical history, medication/supplement use, lab work, hydration/nutrition status, lifestyle, diet history and other topics the she sees relevant. In the end you will likely set 1-2 goals towards creating sustainable changes.
