About Emily

I am a Texas native passionate about exploring new cultures through food. My journey began at Tulane University, where I majored in public health and worked with Edible Schoolyard and the Goldring Teaching Kitchen, solidifying my love for food systems. This led me to pursue a Master's in Nutrition at Tufts University, focusing on public health research in Boston. Since 2019, I have specialized in Eating Disorders in the Bay Area, working at PHP and IOP levels and in my own private practice. My personal experience with an eating disorder enhances my connection with clients. I emphasize removing shame from eating, practicing weight-inclusivity, and increasing access to care.

Approach to care

My approach to nutrition care is rooted in creating a supportive, non-judgmental environment. Embracing the Health at Every Size (HAES) paradigm, I focus on weight-inclusive care and healthful behaviors. I help clients set healthy boundaries around food, address body image concerns, and use self-talk reframing to foster a positive inner dialogue. Recognizing the importance of intersecting identities, I strive to create an inclusive space for all clients. Continuously educating myself on best practices, I use evidence-based strategies like mindful eating and stress management to empower clients toward long-term wellness and self-acceptance.
