Patient reviews
“I have met with Lisa two times and have really enjoyed my experience so far. I have never worked with the dietitian before and for some reason have always been a little hesitant. Lisa is very easy to talk to, and has given me little tips and tricks to add nutrients into my diet. She is very client focused and wants to come up with solutions that are feasible and realistic. I would highly recommend her! “

About Lisa
I come from a very food-focused family. My parents were Italian, so food was central to my life. My dad had diabetes, and my mom dieted for years. Food is in my blood, so to speak. I started work as a hospital/clinical dietitian but also have experience in community and culinary nutrition. I started a private practice to encourage people that "health is in their hands". I have a very strong clinical background having worked in a MICU (intensive care unit) and SICU (surgical intensive care unit) for several years. I've written three cookbooks (gout, thyroid disease, and heart disease). My specialties include autoimmune diseases, metabolic conditions (diabetes, pre-diabetes, cardiovascular disease, weight management), aging, men's and women's health. My "meat and potatoes" are women going through perimenopause and menopause. I'm licensed in Ohio, Montana and Oregon, am also able to see patients in "green" states that don't carry licensure for dietetics (AZ, CA, CO, CT, MI, VA)
Approach to care
I take a personalized approach to nutrition counseling and focus on what we can add to your diet instead of what should we take away. I personalize nutrition information based on your culture, food preferences/tolerances, lifestyle, budget, and skill level.
Your first session with Lisa
At your first session, I'll pepper you with questions about your health goals, current diet, lifestyle, sleep, stress, and exercise. After the session, you'll receive a summary and information (handouts, recipes, etc) in the Nourish app. I encourage questions and look forward to working with you!
