About Abby
Abby works with your personal goals and ambitions when it comes to strengthening your relationship with food. She has previously worked as an inpatient clinical dietitian. With two years of clinical experience under her belt, she is able to provide educational insight in many areas. Some areas include bariatric surgery, diabetes, nutrition support, heart health, plant-based diets, and more! She was born and raised in Central Arkansas and now calls Fayetteville, Arkansas her home. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time outdoors with activities like kayaking, long walks, and yoga. She also enjoys spending quality time with her friends as well as her black cat, Frankenstein. Abby focuses on a more holistic approach to disease states and works with you to configure recommendations that best meet your day-to-day life.
Approach to care
Abby approaches care in a body positive, holistic, and non-judgemental style. She believes in the Health at Every Size (HAES) initiative to help individuals work towards their goals and needs. Food guilt and restrictions are a thing of the past! She believes in utilizing moderation as a key tool for balance. With Abby, you will be able to collaborate and configure plans that are reasonable to your everyday meal regimen. Abby is also a big foodie, and is willing to help provide examples and options for substitutions/replacements with recipes & meal selection.
Your first session with Abby
In your first session, you can expect Abby to get to know more about your background and your story. She strives to create a comfortable atmosphere for you to be free of judgement. Her role is to gather your health and nutrition history, discuss long-term goals, and provide ways to achieve those goals. The session with Abby will conclude with summarizing what you have discussed, developing an action plan, and how to implement it before the following visit.
