About Abigail
First captivated by nutrition in high school through a healthcare elective, I became fascinated by how our bodies work and how we can optimize our food and beverage intake to function better in the day-to-day and to help our bodies heal when things go wrong. Since then, I have had the pleasure of working with patients and clients across the age spectrum from infant to geriatric in a variety of settings and with many different challenges for almost 20 years--from the patient in rehab battling alcoholism to the outpatient client with newly diagnosed diabetes to the spouse of a patient with a newly placed feeding tube due to head and neck cancer and lots of in between.
Approach to care
I use a holistic, patient/client-led approach to care. While I am the nutrition expert, you know your body best, so we will work together to formulate a plan that will help you to achieve your goals most efficiently and effectively. We will set you up for success by incorporating what I like to call the ACTS of change--Accountability, Consistency, Time, and Sustainability. Moderation, variety, and balance in nutrition will be the focus of our time together, but we will likely talk about sleep, stress management, and movement as well because all of these factors are so important in your health journey!
Your first session with Abigail
During our first session, we will take time to get to know each other and explore your unique medical/nutritional history and current challenges. Be prepared to answer questions as I seek to understand your goals and expectations, and I encourage you to ask questions, too. From there, we will collaborate to set 2-3 actionable steps to get you on your way to better health!
