About Ahna
After her own battles with Multiple Sclerosis, Ahna became a dietitian to shed light on the undeniable connection between chronic conditions and nutrition. Ahna is an effective communicator in the chronic illness space and understands the daily challenges of living with an autoimmune disease, impaired thyroid, and altered GI function. Ahna has extensive experience assisting patients with MS, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and Hashimoto’s. As gastrointestinal health impacts immune health, she also works with GI conditions like Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, and SIBO. Her goal is to work closely with patients, empowering them to improve their health through dietary changes.
Approach to care
Ahna uses her perspective as a practitioner and her heart as an autoimmune patient, to dive into the trenches with clients. She encourages clients to take charge of their own health through impactful, yet sustainable, dietary and lifestyle changes. She recognizes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to combat chronic health conditions and tailors her recommendations based on a client’s unique clinical picture, individual needs, and preferred goals. When possible, Ahna utilizes lab testing as a tool and especially enjoys educating clients on their results to ensure they gain a complete understanding of their health picture along with the tools they need to restore health and hope.
Your first session with Ahna
During your initial session, we will dive into questions to assess where you are in your own health journey. A thorough medical history will be combined with questions about your lifestyle, dietary struggles, and health concerns. We will be sure to consider your medications, supplements, personal likes and dislikes, along with budgetary and time constraints as we outline an approach to fit your unique circumstances. My objective is that you leave our first appointment feeling heard, empowered, and confident that the goals we set will help you reach your health goals one step at a time.
