About Alessia
Like many struggling with societyâs demands today, Alessia too battled with a healthy relationship with food. Before becoming a dietitian, she would worry about every little thing she ate, followed food restriction and tracking of everything, fad diets, and exercised for all the wrong reasons. It wasnât until after she became a dietitian, and started working in the field, she started to thrive on what she was taught. She now views food and nutrition as something that can add to our health & intake; not take away from it. Nutrition is not one size fits all; we are all different and require unique needs. Food provides our body with sustenance to thrive, but it also provides nostalgia. Throughout her career, she has been working with clients on an individualized level, incorporating intuitive eating. She specializes in nutrition therapy for chronic conditions such as hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes, and gastrointestinal issues like IBS, gastroparesis, and GERD.
Approach to care
Alessia utilizes empathy in her approach, while meeting clients where they are at. This allows for attainable goal making, while building sustainable habit changes. Nutrition is also not one size fits all; everyone has different needs depending on several factors. Alessia provides individualized, nutrition care, based off needs.
Your first session with Alessia
In the first session, a client can expect to get to know one another, and will mainly be a lot of questions and information gathering for the provider to get to know the client and what the concern(s) are; follow ups are where a lot of the collaborative and long term care happen.
