About Alexa
Hello! I'm Alexa, a registered dietitian of 10 years who loves helping people better understand their bodies and how diet and lifestyle can help them get back to feeling their best, or optimize how good they already feel. I'm passionate about functional nutrition - taking a "root cause" approach to symptoms and struggles and working WITH the body to improve someone’s health and relationship to food. I specialized in GI symptoms and conditions - getting digestion back on track to support the body as a whole. I also have a background in sports nutrition and personal training, women's hormones, diabetes, and cholesterol management, but I work with a variety of other conditions as well.
Approach to care
Building a healthy lifestyle varies person to person, and it's important to take your preferences, goals, access, and lifestyle into account when creating a plan of action. What you want and what you feel capable of matters - it's a good provider's job to meet you where you are and work with you to find the best path forward. There are many different ways to reach a set goal - and flexibility is key in starting something new to ensure that any changes made feel sustainable and are realistically things you can build into your lifestyle long term.
Your first session with Alexa
Our first session is all about getting to know each other! We will review your health history, goals, and daily routine, and set up a couple small starting goals to begin working on before our next session. I would also love to discuss any lab work/ test results from any recent doctor's appointments, as they can give us more insight into how your body is functioning. So, if you have any, please upload a copy to your portal for me to review prior to our appointment.
