About Alexander

Hello and welcome to Nourish! My name is Alex, and I'm a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I began my education at Nassau Community College and completed my Bachelor’s degree at SUNY Oneonta. I currently work full-time at Northwell Health on the general medicine floors, where I care for patients with a variety of complex medical conditions, with a primary focus on diabetes management and education. A few times each year, I also teach the nutrition lecture for Northwell’s Diabetes Champion Course, helping nurses strengthen their understanding of nutrition care for individuals with diabetes. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, playing the drums, working out, and spending quality time with my family and friends. I’m passionate about helping people build a positive relationship with food and empowering them to reach their health goals—no matter where they are on their journey.

Approach to care

My approach to care begins with getting to know each individual and understanding their unique needs and goals. I take a conversational, collaborative approach rather than a lecturing style to help promote engagement and open communication. My priority in every session is to build strong rapport and create a supportive, judgment-free space where you feel comfortable expressing your needs. Together, we’ll explore realistic and sustainable ways to improve your health and well-being through nutrition.

Your first session with Alexander

I like to view our first session as an opportunity to get to know each other so I can better understand how to support you. After introductions, we’ll talk about what you hope to gain from improving your nutritional well-being and discuss your personal goals. From there, we’ll review your medical history and current habits to identify ways nutrition can play a meaningful role in your health journey. My goal is to make our sessions enjoyable, supportive, and focused on helping you achieve the goals you set for yourself.
