About Alexandra

Alexandra is a registered dietitian with over 11 years experience. She supports patients in elevating their nutritional status, healing from illness/injury and managing chronic conditions. She helps patients with diabetes manage blood sugars; with heart disease manage blood pressure and cholesterol levels; with digestive disorders manage symptoms of reflux, constipation and diarrhea; and with renal disease preserve healthy kidney function. Alex is also a yoga instructor and Certified Intuitive Eating counselor who works with women in mid-life by helping support their bodies through the transition of perimenopause and menopause through nutrition and life-style choices.

Approach to care

Alex maintains a weight neutral approach and does not believe in "weight loss at any costs." As such, she will never recommend unrealistic meal plans, restrictive diets or unhealthy and dangerous methods of weight management. She believes that bodies of any size can be healthy and strives to give her patients the tools to be able to nourish themselves properly well beyond their session times together.

Your first session with Alexandra

She will ask a lot of questions in order to get to know you! In order for her to do a good job in helping you reach your goals she needs to understand your history, priorities, boundaries and barriers. Medical history, labs and medications will be discussed if applicable. She creates a casual and safe space and invites questions and conversation throughout the session.
