About Alicia
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 2016, I am excited to bring my expertise in nutrition-related medical conditions along with lifestyle coaching experience to the Nourish community! I have primarily focused on wellness through counseling in heart health, diabetes, weight management, and female health (menopause, fertility, pregnancy, post-partum). In addition to encouraging others to live a healthy lifestyle, I also work tirelessly to keep myself healthy and understand how much goes into the daily effort required to feel good. As a mom of two young children, I always need to offer some favorites – my favorite fruit is an Indian mango, and my favorite vegetable is Brussels sprouts.
Approach to care
I always come to appointments with an open mind, using understanding to lead my communication style, and a methodical process for digging to find the root cause of my clients’ behaviors and issues. I always work with evidence based, science backed information, resources and processes to encourage my clients to make small changes that will lead to big long-term results. There are no quick fixes in nutrition, so we have to work in a relationship of trust, patience and perseverance to achieve the end goal. It is always individualized to what is realistic, sustainable and feels right to the clients I work with.
Your first session with Alicia
Our first session will be about getting comfortable with each other, working together to walk through medical and dietary history, and pinpointing the client's initial goals. I will also always pick up on your sarcasm and humor - my two favorite qualities! We will discuss whether you have worked towards similar goals in the past, what your relationship may have been with previous dietitians or medical professionals or friends/family that have shaped your mindset around food and diet. From there we will start to craft a plan towards goal setting, homework for the next session, if applicable and discuss resources that will be helpful to share.
