About Alicia
Iâm so glad youâve stopped by my profileâchances are, youâre here because something about your health feels off. I canât say Iâve seen it all, but Iâve seen a lot. Iâve watched people improve some scary labs, ease stubborn gut issues, and go from disliking their bodies to feeling confident and connected again. I donât have a magic wand (I know, itâd be way cooler if I did), but what I do have is a blend of solid facts, fresh perspectives, and a listening ear to help you work through whateverâs keeping you stuck. All I ask is that you show up with an open mind and a willingness to try. On the personal side, Iâve got a couple of kids and a rambunctious house hippoâour big olâ dogâwho keep life interesting. I understand what itâs like to feel overwhelmed and exhausted, and I know firsthand that despite all of it, you can still learn, grow, and reach your goals. Helping people see their potentialâand step into itâis exactly why I do this work.
Approach to care
First and foremost, we listen and we donât judge! I havenât lived your experience, that is completely unique to you and you deserve to be able to share your experiences with someone who wonât invalidate what youâve been through. I incorporate a non-diet and weight inclusive perspective. If you want to change your weight, thatâs perfectly fine, but that is your decision alone. Not your momâs, not your doctorâs, not a concerned distant relative youâve seen once in the last 20 years. My job is to empower you to make healthy decisions that work for you! I also work through gut health from a holistic perspective with you. This is not to say thereâs anything wrong with western medicine, but sometimes more can be done to make you comfortable and I want to honor that. If nothing else, Iâm patient as heck and wonât make you feel bad about taking your time putting your plans into action. Getting well and meeting your goals comes down to the work youâre willing to put into yourself.
Your first session with Alicia
In our first session together we get (virtually) up close and personal. First, Iâll ask about your ex from freshman year, just kidding⊠unless they had an impact on your relationship with food. We go over the story of âYou.â All the things going on in your life and past events that shaped who you are now because guess what: health is determined by much more than just food. Then, we continue writing Your Story. Weâll build on your goals with each appointment, teasing out your losses and the why behind them and more importantly celebrating your wins! If youâre just here for a one and done meal plan, I may not be the RD for you. The biggest victories happen for those who continue to show up whether they succeed or fail. Iâm in this for the long-haul with you.
