About Alison
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about working with a registered dietitian! I am passionate about nutrition and have more than 28 years of experience working with chronic disease prevention and management with the goal of improving lifestyle and outcomes for my clients. Whether you have kidney disease, heart disease, metabolic concerns, hypertension, a feeding tube, wounds that need to heal, or simply want to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I am here to help! I became interested in nutrition by starting in a biochemistry program and learning how every part of us needs to be properly fueled, which guided my career path that I love.
Approach to care
You are the most important part of your healthcare plan! I believe that every small realistic change we can make together will move us forward to your success. I will work to find interventions that meet you where you are and work with you to establish and meet your goals.
Your first session with Alison
We will spend our time in the first session getting to know each other. We will talk about how you are feeling, what your goals are, what has and has not worked for you in the past, your medical history, bloodwork, and your current lifestyle and preferences. One of my skills is bringing that medical jargon down to something that makes sense. I am very open and supportive with communication, prefer a relaxed setting, and will offer a non-judgmental approach so no question should be left unasked!
