About Alison

Hi, I'm Alison, a Registered Dietitian based in Ankeny, Iowa. I bring 31 years of experience across clinical hospital settings, private practice, and research and academia. I have been an education for the past 15 years. In addition, for the past five years, I have been a dietitian at Iowa State University Student Health while seeing clients in my private practice. I earned my BS and MS in Nutrition from Iowa State University and I'm Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. In my downtime I love traveling, biking, reading, and spending time with my children, my dogs, and my grandpups.

Approach to care

My care philosophy centers on a collaborative, evidence-based approach. I practice HAES, Intuitive Eating and I value holistic care. I work with clients in an empathetic, warm, nonjudgmental way, focusing on sustainable, practical steps rather than quick fixes. We'll explore the biology, psychology and behavior behind eating, equip you with knowledge, and tailor plans that fit your life. We'll celebrate progress and keep the focus on long-term health and well-being.

Your first session with Alison

Our first appointment is all about you. We'll review your medical history, discuss goals, and look at lab work and biomarkers to give us a full picture. You don't need to have everything figured out before we meet. By the end, you'll leave with clear, realistic goals and practical education to start moving forward together.
