About Alison

I became a dietitian with the goal to make healthy eating accessible to everyone. For the last several years, I have worked alongside families in a comprehensive weight management program to help guide them toward healthier, more balanced eating while also addressing metabolic disease. My approach to nutrition emphasizes meeting people where they are in their health journey and working as a team to identify challenges that can make lifestyle changes hard to maintain. I like to focus on helping people meet their nutrition needs without the focus being on restriction. I believe that food should be nourishing, enjoyable and a source of connection, not stress. Whether it’s improving family meals or finding a personalized plan that works for you, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Approach to care

My approach to nutrition care is grounded in compassion, collaboration and evidence-based practice. It’s important that I understand you as a person. I will work to understand the full picture, including your medical history, cultural background, current lifestyle, personal goals and relationship with food. I meet people where they are, without judgment, recognizing that change looks different for everyone. Together, we will set both short and long-term goals that address any current concerns as well as your long-term well-being. My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools you need to make healthy choices, build confidence and feel supported throughout your journey.

Your first session with Alison

Your first session with me is all about getting to know you. We'll take the time to talk through your health goals, medical history, lifestyle, and eating habits so I can understand the full picture. I’ll ask about what has worked for you in the past, what hasn’t, and what you hope to learn and achieve through working with a dietitian. We’ll explore your food preferences, likes and dislikes, and what's truly important to you when it comes to nutrition and wellness. This helps us build a foundation of trust and ensures that any goals we set together are both realistic and sustainable. By the end of the session, you'll have a clearer sense of how we can work together to support your long-term health and well-being.
