About Aliya
Hi, I'm Aliya. I’m a Registered Dietitian with 20 years of experience and an MS in Food and Nutrition. I’ve practiced in clinical and hospital settings, in outpatient dialysis, and in elderly care facilities, always focusing on how nutrition supports resilient health. I carry my RDN credential with pride, and I value science-backed guidance delivered with warmth. When I’m not helping patients, you’ll find me hiking, cooking, reading, or biking outdoors in Detroit.
Approach to care
Your well being guides our work. I combine evidence-based science with a warm, empathetic approach and direct, action-oriented plans. I practice with a Health At Every Size mindset, focusing on sustainable behaviors rather than quick fixes or dieting culture. Together, we’ll explore sleep, stress, and nourishment so your plan fits your life today and supports lasting change. I believe education empowers you to make informed choices you feel confident about.
Your first session with Aliya
Our first session is a conversation, not a test. We'll review your medical history and your lab work or biometrics, and together we'll establish short-term goals. You don't need to have it all figured out; I’ll listen, ask questions, and we’ll translate your experiences into a practical starting plan. We’ll talk about your daily routines, preferences, and potential barriers so the path ahead feels doable. By the end, we’ll have 1-2 clear goals to work on before our next visit.
