About Aliyah

Hi! My name is Aliyah and I am a Registered Dietitian located in the stage of Michigan! I graduated from Grand Valley State University with my Masters of Science in Clinical Dietetics and I currently work as an in patient dietitian at a skilled nursing facility. In my role I work with patients with a wide variety of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, kidney, liver, and many others. I also work with patients who are on tube feeds and have dysphagia. Outside of my role, I am very passionate about eating disorders, gut health, and general nutrition!

Approach to care

My approach to care is non-diet, weight neutral, and client centered. My goal is to support you through your nutrition journey. I aim to help clients form sustainable habits that support and align with their daily lifestyle, with a long term goal of health and wellness. I like to focus on intuitive eating, and do not believe that you should ever cut your favorite foods out of your life, as food is joyful to many. In my practice I acknowledge that nutrition is not one size fits all, so I am here to help you come up with a individualized nutrition plan that fits you, your goals, and your lifestyle!

Your first session with Aliyah

During our first session, you should expect it to be pretty easy going. I love to get to know my clients right off the bat, as I think a client-provider relationship is very important and a great way to build trust, and also help me learn about you and what approaches are best to take. We will also take a deep dive into your history so that I have an idea of where you are at in your nutrition journey, compared to where you want to be, this could involve reviewing medical history, labs, medications/supplements, diet recalls and exercise patterns. Together, we will then come up with goals and a personalized plan on how we can reach them!
