About Allison
Hello! I’m a registered dietitian nutritionist with over 8 years of experience, specializing in weight management, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular health, and overall healthy eating. My primary focus has been in weight management, with extensive experience in bariatric surgery and GLP-1 weight loss medications. I grew up playing sports all my life and to be honest, I ate terribly during those years! I took an interest in nutrition in college and ditched my accounting courses to pursue my true passion of nutrition. A lot of times, no one teaches us proper nutrition or how nutrition can impact our health. It can be so overwhelming with all the nutrition info and tik tok videos out there these days. Nutrition should not be as complicated as it is made out to be, which is why I love taking what I learn from my clinical experience and research on nutrition and making the information approachable and applicable for you and your health goals.
Approach to care
I have a non-judgemental approach that I bring to my sessions. I enjoy getting to know you and building rapport to get a better understanding of your health goals and what truly matters to you. I believe this is the foundation to working collaboratively to help achieve your goals and outcomes. I listen to what your expectations are and work together to strive for that versus giving you a generic meal plan or list of foods to eat. I am here to provide the tools you need to succeed and accountability each week to help facilitate a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable for you.
Your first session with Allison
In our first session, you can expect a positive, uplifting environment with my goal to get to know you better! I’ll ask plenty of questions about your medical history, relationship with food, behavioral habits, and your goals to help curate a health/nutrition plan that is realistic and sustainable for you. I also like to dig a little deeper to help uncover thoughts and behaviors you may not be aware of on your own that could be impacting your nutrition and health. I believe consistency is key and I recommend meeting with my clients frequently to check in on progress to stay the course or adapt our game plan.
