About Allison

As a seasoned dietitian, I have had the opportunity to explore specialities from infants to the elderly. I received my education from both Virginia Tech and the University of Virginia and have over a decade of direct patient care experience. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patient populations to include both active duty and veteran military, Pediatrics, pregnancy and postpartum, as well as lactation/breastfeeding assistance to name a few. With opportunities in both critical care hospital settings, as well as outpatient settings, I feel comfortable addressing a wide range of nutrition concerns and goals.

Approach to care

Each nutrition session will provide a personalized approach as we continue to make strides towards our ultimate goal. I strive to foster both emotional and physical growth during our time as we learn together how to take control of our choices and work towards a better eating competency.

Your first session with Allison

My focus is trending towards lifestyle modifications and sustainable practice rather than feeling like you’re in a space of judgement or restriction. We’ll create a balance between scientific and clinical expertise with emotional and motivational interviewing influences and a strong emphasis on compassion, patience and empathy. My goal is to meet you where you are and see where and how we can expand. How can we make this journey fun? How can we take the scary pieces away? How can we keep the joy in eating? These are all pieces we’ll explore as we work together to find the resolutions and goals you and your family strive for.
