About Ally
Ally Sajdak (she/her) is a dietitian based out of North Carolina. She is from Michigan and will say "pop" and not "soda". A love for cooking and bringing people together through food transformed a passion into a career for her. Many years of school later, Ally earned her Masters in Public Health and Nutritional Sciences from the University of Michigan. Ally knows how confusing it can be to hear nutrition information from all kinds of platforms and sources. She can help you decipher from what nutrition practices can be helpful for you. Ally wants to create a safe space for all to be met with no judgement.
Approach to care
Ally will be your nutrition ALLY--always on your side. She will meet you where you are at with compassion and a listening ear. She adopts a weight-neutral, non-diet and client-led approach to counseling. This means you get to decide what is discussed during sessions, weight does not have to be mentioned at all and not everyone needs to be put on a "diet". Ally believes we all deserve to have peaceful relationships with food and our body. After all, the longest relationship we have is with ourselves.
Your first session with Ally
Your first session is not meant to be stressful. Ally will start with getting to know you and what your nutrition concerns are. If you are not sure what brought you to make an appointment, she will help you figure out why! You can expect a casual conversation that will set the foundation for future sessions. Change can take time to have a sustainable impact on you and your well-being.
