About Alyssa

Hi, I’m Alyssa! I hold a Master's degree in Human Metabolism with an emphasis on research and have nearly 10 years of experience in clinical nutrition, including close to five years working with chronic conditions in the outpatient setting. I’ve worked extensively with gastrointestinal conditions, diabetes, and weight management, and also have experience supporting clients with tube feedings, kidney disease, liver disease, and bone health. My goal is to support you throughout your health journey while also providing accountability to help you make meaningful, lasting changes.

Approach to care

No two people are the same, even if they look similar on paper—so nutrition plans should never be one-size-fits-all. I take an individualized, psychosocial approach to care by exploring what has held you back in the past and building strategies that are realistic for your life now. Progress is not linear, and setbacks are part of the process—you’re still moving forward. I strive to be encouraging and empathetic while also being honest and straightforward when needed to support growth. I do not focus solely on the number on the scale; instead, weight is viewed as just one data point alongside measures like blood pressure, labs, and overall well-being. My approach emphasizes building sustainable habits and adding supportive behaviors before taking anything away.

Your first session with Alyssa

During your first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other and discussing your current relationship with food, your goals, and what daily life looks like for you—including stressors and responsibilities that may impact your nutrition. We’ll review your current eating patterns and activity level and talk about what learning or coaching style works best for you. Before the session ends, we’ll create a personalized plan to help you move toward your goals. This plan is flexible and will be adjusted as your needs and circumstances change. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on this journey!
