About Alyssa

Hi! I'm Alyssa and I'm excited for the opportunity to work with you. I've been a dietitian for over three years and have worked with many individuals who are interested in bettering their health. My hope is that I can assist you on your journey to improving your relationship with food and have some fun during the process. Outside of work, I'm a wife and a new mom to a baby girl born in April of 2024! We enjoy spending time outside walking around our neighborhood and along various nature trails throughout our home state of Connecticut. I love to host friends and family in our home and enjoy cooking to share food with others. That's a little bit about me, I can't wait to learn about you!

Approach to care

I pride myself in taking ample time to get to know my patients, I think the most effective change can occur when someone feels heard and listened to. There are so many reasons why we all choose to eat the foods that we do, whether it be time, tradition, taste, culture, comfort, finances, feelings, etc. I want to fully understand what makes someone tick first before I begin making suggestions. This process is a partnership and I am not going to steer the ship, I will assist you as you learn to steer your own ship when it comes to your health and food choices.

Your first session with Alyssa

In our first session, you can expect to spend some time discussing you! We will go over what a typical day of eating is like for you and will touch on various lifestyle factors that impact your food choices. Then I will provide some initial education about nutrition. Following this, we'll set goals together regarding things you want to commit to working on or changing between the first visit and the next. Our follow up visit will be a check in for you to tell me all about how well you did! The last part of the first session is for you to ask me any questions you might have about the things we discussed.
