About Alyssa
Hi! I'm Alyssa Resnick a performance dietitian with over a decade of experience in nutrition and six years specifically dedicated to helping clients overcome eating disorders and disordered eating. Currently based in upstate New York, I primarily work with athletes and individuals struggling with fueling issues and weight goals. My main focus is promoting food-freedom-focused health improvement. I have a huge passion for performance nutrition and helping individuals feel empowered to fuel their bodies effectively while achieving their health and performance goals in a compassionate, non-judgmental way. My love for this field extends so wide that I have recently published my first workbook, found on Amazon, titled Screw Your Diet & Their Opinion. I found that so individuals are struggling with similar issues with intuitive eating and food and I want to help those in doing further work at home on healing their relationship with food through therapeutic tools and relatable resources.
Approach to care
It is my main goal to help those individuals gain a better understanding of nutrition and how it relates to their body/body image. My approach to nutrition counseling is to provide food freedom to individuals struggling with food and their weight while also uniquely helping them to improve their athletic performance and heal their relationship with food. I believe that all eating can be fun and stress free and many eating behaviors can be healed through releasing our ties to diet culture with proper nutrition education!
Your first session with Alyssa
You can expect a stress free, friendly environment. I feel as though it is necessary to cultivate a casual non-judgmental space to truly understand you and your nutrition goals. I understand that talking through your eating habits and lifestyle can be difficult and heavy therefore it is my intent to help patiently guide you to make the best choices for you through ongoing support and motivation!
