About Amanda
I have been working as a Registered Dietitian for four years. Prior to becoming a RDN, I was a 5th grade teacher in Baton Rouge, LA and spent my summers off leading and teaching rock climbing in North Carolina. I currently live in Prairieville, LA with my husband and three young girls.
Approach to care
I have always taken an inclusive approach to nutrition, rather than an exclusive one. I work with clients to find manageable ways to include all nutrients in the body so that all systems are functioning properly. I do this within parameters of individualized health needs (food allergies, specific medical diagnoses, caloric needs for weight management) and preferences (food likes and dislikes, available cooking time, budget).
Your first session with Amanda
Our first session is a chance to discuss and collect detailed health information and personal preferences in regards to food. It's also a chance for a client to get to know me and feel comfortable working together in future sessions. We will talk through specific needs and personal goals and together make a plan for future sessions so that meeting nutrition-related goals is efficient and manageable.
