About Amanda
I am a Registered Dietitian with over 15 years of lived and professional experience shaping my approach to nutrition care. I began my career in community nutrition and counseling. Early on, I learned the value of meeting people where they are and creating realistic approaches that fit everyday life. After stepping away from the workforce to raise my children, my understanding of health deepened through personal experiences, including the loss of my first daughter. This led me to explore the effects of grief, trauma, and chronic stress on the body and reshaped how I view healing. I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Facilitator and have navigated two back surgeries, which strengthened my belief in patience, adaptability, and self-compassion. Though my path has not been linear, it has made me a grounded, compassionate, patient-centered clinician who supports sustainable change.
Approach to care
I am passionate about helping people build healthier relationships with food in a way that feels realistic and sustainable. I value creating a space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. My goal is a holistic approach to care, blending nutrition, mindfulness, and behavior change.
Your first session with Amanda
In your first session, you can expect a relaxed, judgment-free conversation focused on getting to know you as a whole person—not just your diet or symptoms. We’ll discuss your health goals, daily routines, food preferences, cultural influences, and past challenges, along with your lifestyle, stress levels, and support systems. This session is about understanding your unique story and how nutrition fits into your life. Using a motivational interviewing approach, I won’t tell you what you “should” do or provide a rigid meal plan. Instead, we’ll explore what change means to you and what feels realistic right now. You are the expert on your experience, and my role is to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you identify strengths. By the end, you’ll leave with clear direction, one or two personalized focus areas, and a plan that feels supportive and manageable.
