About Amanda

Throughout all of my professional experiences in the field of dietetics thus far, I have acquired an extensive amount of knowledge and skills in which I continuously put into practice. From inpatient and outpatient settings to remote counseling, I have diverse experience regarding food and nutrition amongst populations with various dietary needs (e.g. overweight/obesity, disordered eating/EDNOS, body recomposition, individuals on therapeutic diets, etc.) Responsibilites that I have held and continue to exercise include producing nutritional assessments, providing nutrition education, creating meal plans, planning menus, conducting dietary audits, and developing nutritious recipes. Throughout the experiences listed above, I have developed a great sense in value in ensuring optimal nutritional status and satisfaction amongst clientele through my services.

Approach to care

As a dietitian who is an advocate for “food first” nutrition therapy, exercising eating habits that foster a positive attitude towards/relationship with food and body image is something in which I hold closely to heart and will place great focus on during our session together. Through my services, my goal is to support your nutrition-related goals within reasonable means while still exercising intuitive eating and shifting your mindset from “black-and-white”/“all-or-nothing” thinking to a more “seeing-shades-of-gray”/intuitive eating approach. To put it simply, I will help you change you focus from “What should I avoid/eliminate?” to “What can I do to find a happy medium between nutritious and delicious foods for the long run?” 🍽️

Your first session with Amanda

In our first session together, you can expect us to exchange self-introductions to not only break the ice, but also to allow me to have a better understanding of who you are as an individual and to ensure that I deliver effective nutritional guidance and support that is most appropriate for you. To add, it can help you develop a sense of assurance and confidence in my services to you. As our session progresses, topics such as personal health goals, current dietary/lifestyle habits, and personal health-/dietary-related obstacles will be discussed. Towards the conclusion of our initial session, we will brainstorm a plan of action, including short- and long-term goals, together for you. I will then wrap things up by addressing any remaining questions and/or concerns you may have and then schedule our next session together for when it works best for you 😌
