About Amanda

Throughout all of my professional experiences in the field of dietetics thus far, I have acquired an extensive amount of knowledge and skills in which I continuously put into practice. From inpatient settings to outpatient establishments, I have diverse experience with food and nutrition amongst populations of various dietary needs (e.g. older adult, youth, eating disorder/EDNOS, SUDs, individuals on therapeutic diets, etc.) Responsibilites that I have held and continue to exercise include producing nutritional assessments, providing nutrition education, creating meal plans, planning menus, conducting dietary audits, and collaborating with other disciplines. Throughout the experiences listed above, I have developed a great sense in value in ensuring optimal nutritional status and satisfaction amongst clientele through my services.

Approach to care

As a dietitian who is an advocate for nutrition therapy through food, exercising eating habits and attitudes towards food that positively impact one’s wellbeing are items in which I will place great focus on during our session together. Through my services, my goal is to support your nutrition-related goals within reasonable means while still exercising intuitive eating and focusing on what foods to “add” into your daily diet rather than those to “avoid/eliminate.”

Your first session with Amanda

In our first session together, you can expect us to exchange self-introductions to not only break the ice, but also to allow me to have a better understanding of who you are as an individual and to ensure that I deliver effective nutritional guidance and support that is most appropriate for you. To add, it can help you develop a sense of assurance and confidence in my services to you. As our session progresses, topics such as personal health goals, current dietary/lifestyle habits, and personal health-/dietary-related obstacles will be discussed. Towards the conclusion of our initial session, we will brainstorm a plan of action, including short- and long-term goals, together for you. I will then wrap things up by addressing any remaining questions and/or concerns you may have and then schedule our next session together for when it works best for you.

Education

For a year and a trimester, I had studied at the University of California, Irvine as a biological sciences major. I then moved back home to MA and continued my undergrad studies at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell where I switched my major to nutritional sciences. Lastly but certainly not least, I finished up my coursework— still at UMass Lowell— and graduated with a Master’s in Public Health with a concentration in Dietetics.

Hobbies

Personal hobbies of mine include creating cooking/food content on social media, exploring new food spots locally and in the city with friends and family, going to the gym, dancing, and going out for some karaoke ~
