About Amanda
Hi, I'm Mandy and I have been an RD since March, 2021. I have worked both in hospitals and in outpatient clinics. I currently work for Community Healthcare company in Arizona. I went on my own weight loss journey many years before I became an RD and since then it has been my goal to help others lose weight and just be more healthy by helping lower A1c's and cholesterol levels. I enjoy being outside in Arizona but have had some recent physical limitations so I understand how to make healthy changes that may not involve as much physical activity as the recommendations suggest. I am currently studying for the Diabetes Specialist exam at the end of November and look forward to continuing to help people manage their blood sugar levels as best as they can.
Approach to care
I like to help my patients/clients find their way to their own nutrition goals after discovering what has worked and not worked for them in the past. I do provide evidence based information for assistance getting to those goals, but ultimately, it's up to you to set a realistic goal.
Your first session with Amanda
For the first session, I prefer to ask a lot of questions so I get to know you better. What you eat and when, if your able to do any exercise lately, what you drink and how much, how your sleep is and bedtimes, and stress levels/home life. All of this ties in to your current state of being, and how we begin to change it together.
