About Amber
Hi, I'm Amber, a registered dietitian based in Alexandria, Virginia. I earned my MS in Nutrition Education and Research from the University of Utah. Becoming a dietitian was a career change for me and grew out of my own experiences with figuring out how to fuel myself for long-distance running. Iβm grateful for the chance to meet you and support you on your journey.
Approach to care
I practice from a weight-neutral approach. I want to support you in choosing sustainable, health-promoting behaviors. I prefer to take a positive view when it comes to making changes: a focus on what can we add (e.g., more veggies) rather than on what should we subtract.
Your first session with Amber
There can be a lot to talk about in the first session, but mainly I want to hear about your goals and what has led you to seek nutrition counseling at this time. From there we will talk more about your current and past relationship with food. If appropriate, we can identify a few small changes to start working on, while beginning to sketch out the bigger picture of an overall plan.
