About Amy
Piano practice, tennis matches, and a good book help me recharge between shifts in the clinic. After earning an MS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Virginia Tech, I became a Registered Dietitian and worked in clinical hospital settings. With one year of experience, I focus on translating medical information into manageable routines. Practicing in Virginia Beach, Virginia, I enjoy partnering with patients to build sustainable habits that fit real life.
Approach to care
Science guides what I recommend, and empathy guides how I work. I use current evidence to create clear, practical steps while keeping the conversation judgment-free and supportive. Together we'll focus on behaviors rather than weight, using a Health At Every Size perspective that honors your experience. We will consider nutrition, sleep, stress, and emotions as interconnected. My goal is to teach skills and set small actions so changes stick over the long term.
Your first session with Amy
Expect a relaxed, low-pressure visit where we'll review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you bring. We'll take a deep, nonjudgmental look at your relationship with food, explore routines and barriers, and talk about what has or hasn't worked. I'll listen and we'll create a plan that feels doable for your life. By the end we'll set one or two short-term, realistic goals and a clear next step. You don't need to have everything figured out, just bring your questions.
