About Amy
Hi there! My name is Amy and I have been a Registered Dietitian since 2018! I am very passionate about helping others improve their overall relationship with food, as well as improve their health and wellness through their dietary and lifestyle patterns. I have experience working inpatient in a small rural hospital, a large urban hospital, a kidney transplant center, and in outpatient counseling. For the past 3 years, I have worked in the outpatient counseling setting helping individuals learn how to better manage their diabetes, their heart health, and meet their weight loss goals. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
Approach to care
I work with individuals to meet them where they are currently on their health and wellness journey! I focus on an individualized, holistic approach to nutrition and wellness -- all foods can fit in a lifestyle of moderation and balance. I love to help others let go of any unsustainable diet patterns. No fad diets or "quick fixes" are recommended here! I believe a healthy relationship with food is very important for sustainability and longevity. Making any type of change in life can be overwhelming and takes time. During our consultations, I will provide evidence-based nutrition education, tips and tricks, and support and encouragement along the way as we set realistic goals for you to achieve. There is absolutely no judgement coming from me!
Your first session with Amy
In our first session, we will take time to get to know one another! I want to make sure that you feel comfortable during our conversations and will take time to learn more about you and discuss your health needs. We will create a plan for our consultations moving forward and together we will work to create 1 or 2 small, realistic goals that you feel comfortable working towards, as time allows. Remember, it takes time to make change and time to see progress! Do not feel discouraged! If you are on board, during our first appointment we will work on scheduling a few follow-up appointments to better monitor your success and break through any challenges along your journey.
