About Amy
After two decades as a Registered Dietitian and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in hospital and community health settings, I bring practical experience and curiosity to every conversation. My background in psychology and dietetics shapes how I blend science with behavior, and I enjoy helping people sort fact from fiction when it comes to nutrition, lactation, weight loss, and diet trends. My areas of expertise include supporting breastfeeding mothers whose babies have milk-protein allergies, helping families navigate picky eating in toddlers and young children, promoting healthy growth from infancy through early childhood, and weight loss after pregnancy. Personally, my experiences with breast cancer treatment, a husband living with ulcerative colitis, and family members with celiac disease give me a deep appreciation for the challenges of adapting eating habits while still enjoying food and maintaining a full life.
Approach to care
Science informs the guidance I share, and your life shapes how we apply it. I combine evidence-based recommendations with a warm, nonjudgmental style so we can build sustainable habits rather than chase quick fixes. We'll work in a weight-neutral, behavior-focused way, addressing the whole person, not just numbers. I aim to give clear, actionable steps and teach practical skills, so you leave sessions feeling confident and equipped to make lasting changes.
Your first session with Amy
Expect a relaxed, conversational visit where we review your medical history, current routines, and what matters most to you. You don't need everything figured out, and there is no judgment. I'll help us sort through concerns, debunk conflicting nutrition or lactation claims, and together we'll set one or two realistic short-term goals. You’ll leave with clear next steps and a sense that change can be manageable and sustainable.
