About Amy
Hi! It's your dietitian, Amy. I'm an empathic provider with a passion for food, wellness, and helping others thrive. Raised in southeast Louisiana and proud of my Latin roots, I understand that food is more than just fuel - it's tradition, celebration, and connection. After completing my education in Louisiana, I began my career as a renal dietitian in south Texas. There, I witnessed firsthand the difficult realities of chronic illness and its challenging impact on individuals and families. That experience shaped my professional mission: to shift my focus from reactive care to proactive prevention. As a provider with Nourish, I'm dedicated to empowering clients to take control of their health through balanced eating. Let's work together to address your nutrition concerns while honoring your heritage and addressing/preventing life-altering, costly diseases. I’m truly excited to support you on your wellness journey!
Approach to care
My commitment is to support you in achieving your health and wellness goals through a collaborative and personalized approach. Together, we’ll invest intentional time and effort into building sustainable habits that prioritize your well-being. Navigating nutrition can feel overwhelming, but I'm here to provide clarity through the use of practical, evidence-based strategies that consider your needs, preferences, and lifestyle.
Your first session with Amy
During our first session together, I’ll take time to get to know you so I can tailor my approach to effectively support your nutritional goals. I'll want to learn about your lifestyle, daily routines, and what led you to seek guidance from a dietitian. Whether you're navigating a health concern, exploring new habits, seeking accountability, or simply curious about nutrition, we’ll begin with an open discussion about your current relationship with food. This conversation will help us identify priorities and establish clear, achievable goals that promote long-term health.
