About Amy
Hello! My interest in the study of nutrition started at a young age with a curiosity to explore cooking and baking as a child for my parents and siblings. I practiced making many recipes and enjoyed trying to experiment and make things taste better each time I made them. In my college years, I grew interested in the study of food, nutrition and the impact on health, but after a trip to Italy, I became very interested in how to find ways to help others truly enjoy food while working to improve their health. Over the years of working with patients, it became clear that most patients were given limited information about what, how and why they needed to change their pattern of eating. I like to get to know my patients and work with them to find ways to explore and enjoy foods that will offer health benefits and help them work on their health goals in a positive, supportive way!
Approach to care
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know what is most important to you in regard to working on your health. I'd like to work with you as a team so we can decide together what the next best steps and goals to work towards include. I have a diverse background that includes experience in diabetes, cardiovascular health, weight management, gut health, wellness, emotional eating and building a healthy approach to food. This is your journey to improve your health and I'm honored to be a part of it. I look forward to working with you!
Your first session with Amy
In our first session, I hope you will share with me what is most important for you to begin working on so we can start with a discussion about your typical routine, food preferences as well as challenges that may sometimes impact your food choices, quality of sleep, daily movement and general self-care. During this time, we will discuss your medical history, medication/supplement use, lab work, hydration/nutrition status and other topics to help develop an individualized plan for you. I like to see myself as a "coach" to help you move at a comfortable pace towards your short- and long-term health goals.
