About Amy

I am a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator and Specialist. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a dietitian for the past 14 years and helping people learn how to lead a healthier life. For 8 years I worked as an inpatient and outpatient dietitian and specialized in diabetes management. During that period I was also involved in helping people manage high cholesterol. weight loss, hypertension and heart disease. For the last 7 years I worked in consulting with long-term care facilities. I enjoyed getting to know the residents and helping provide nutrition to improve their quality of life. I am currently teaching the intro to nutrition courses at the collegiate level. My hope is that when students leave my class they have an understanding of nutrition that they will be able to carry with them for the rest of their life. Learning the importance of making wise nutrition related choices can help you guard against chronic diseases and live a long healthy life.

Approach to care

My goal is to be a support and encourage you as you strive for your best state of health. I believe to provide the best nutrition care for managing chronic disease states is to have patient collaboration. I want the patient to feel empowered to make nutrition decisions that will help to improve their health. By working together to create an approach that will be beneficial to the patient and to see overall health results.

Your first session with Amy

During the first session we will spend some time getting to know one another. I believe that it is important that the patient be involved in creating goals because this is shown to have the most positive results. We will collaborate to come up with some short and long term goals so that we can get moving forward towards a healthier you.
