About Amy

Hi! I am a Registered Dietitian who graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's in Science in dietetics. My primary speciality is Renal Nutrition, where I help people with kidney disease to understand what to eat, what to limit and how to make nutrition feel manageable rather than overwhelming. In addition to kidney care, I work with clients on weight loss, menopause-related changes, pre-diabetes and overall health. Many of the people I work with feel frustrated by conflicting nutrition advice or past plans that didn't work long-term. My approach is practical, realistic, and focused on progress- not perfection.

Approach to care

I believe nutrition should fit into your real life. I don't believe in extreme rules or one-size-fits-all plans. Instead, I focus on education, support and small changes that actually stick over time. I like to take a personalized, supportive approach to nutrition counseling. That means we'll look at your health history, labs (when available), lifestyle, preferences and goals- not just a diagnosis or number on the scale. I aim to create a space that feels comfortable, judgement-free, and collaborative. This is your health- I'm here to guide and support you, not lecture you. We will work as a team!

Your first session with Amy

Your first session is all about getting to know you. We'll talk through your health history, current concerns, goals, eating habits, and any challenges you've been facing. If you have recent labs, we can review those together. We'll identify priorities and create a clear plan that feels realistic and doable- something that fits into your life. You'll leave with specific next steps- not a long list of rules and restrictions. Most importantly, this session sets the foundation for ongoing support. There's no pressure to be perfect - just honest conversation and practical guidance.
