About Andrea
Hi there! My name is Andrea and I've been a Registered Dietitian for over 11 years. I started my career in an acute care hospital in Los Angeles, California. I worked as a Clinical Dietitian on the hospital floors for 6 years, seeing patients with a wide range of conditions and chronic diseases. I then became the Lead Dietitian for 3 years where I was able to help patients in a boarder way, by rewriting policies and procedures, to rewriting all 26 of the therapeutic diets. Here in San Diego I worked for an insurance company that services the low-income, elderly. I joined Nourish because I wanted to be able to use my skill set in a one-on-one educational setting.
Approach to care
I really try to offer a variety of techniques because we are all such different learners. Whether it be auditory, visual, or teaching back styles I always try to go above and beyond to ensure my participants understand not only WHAT I am teaching, but also WHY to give rationale and purpose to our goals. Luckily Nourish is able to provide excellent teaching materials so you will not have to see my very crude drawings of a pancreas or liver!

There is never any judgment. Food is such a deeply personal and sensitive topic I will try my best to make you feel safe and respected during all of our conversations.
