About Angela
After starting my career in the kitchen with a culinary arts degree, the science of food and community brought me into my last two decades of working with families in community health clinics and hospital clinics. Restaurants and healthcare kitchens taught me that practical food skills matter as much as the science behind them. I bring 21 years as a registered dietitian, practicing as an RDN and LD and as an IBCLC, with an Masters from Marshall University. I have a passion for continuous learning and just completed my Certificate of Training in Obesity for Pediatrics and Adults. When I'm not supporting patients or reading the latest research, you'll find me gardening, cooking, or spending time with my family exploring state and national parks.
Approach to care
I am a firm believer that success grows out of small, consistent steps. Evidence and empathy guide how I work, blending current research with warmth so we can build realistic, lasting habits together. I take a whole-person view that honors mental, emotional, and physical health, and I use a weight-neutral Health At Every Size lens to focus on behaviors rather than numbers. We'll set clear, action-oriented steps, learn the why behind them, and adapt as we go so changes stick and feel sustainable.
Your first session with Angela
Expect a relaxed, question-filled conversation where I ask about your daily habits, routines, wins, and frustrations so we can see the full picture. Together we'll set short-term, realistic goals and create a simple meal plan you can use right away. There's no pressure to have everything sorted beforehand, just bring your experiences. We'll leave with clear next steps that focus on sustainable progress through small, consistent changes.
