About Angela
Hi! I'm Angela, and I have been a registered dietitian since November 2020. My primary focus areas have been weight management, heart disease (high cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc.), and blood sugar management (insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, and Type 2 Diabetes without insulin). I am passionate about helping people improve their health, understand nutrition, and build a positive relationship with food. There is a plethora of nutrition information online, and it can be difficult to sort through and determine what is evidenced-based. I will provide evidenced-based nutrition support and work with you to create sustainable and achievable outcomes and goals. I really focus on what can we ADD to your plate, not what can we take away. Along with that, I also place strong emphasis on non-scale victories, such as improved energy, being more active, eating a greater variety of foods, and improved sleep quality, just to name a few.
Approach to care
My motto is nutrition by addition- what can we add to your plate? I believe nutrition care is not one size fits all, so we will work together to find tweaks to your diet and lifestyle that fit you and your needs. My goal is to build sustainable, life long habits- not only for nutrition, but also for movement, stress management, and sleep quality - the pillars of health. At each visit, we will put together a couple mini goals for you to work on that will help your achieve your larger goals. Improving your health is a marathon, not a sprint. I will be here to support you every step of the way- through the ups and the downs because no journey is linear or perfect, and that is okay.
Your first session with Angela
In our first session, prepare to answer many questions! I want to learn about your eating habits, relationship with food, lifestyle, medical history, and what you hope to gain out of working with me. I will be actively listen to your concerns, goals, and food preferences to create a personalized plan for care. Nutrition is much more complex than just the foods you eat, so learning about you as a whole will be essential to providing the best care.
