About Anne

I have over 25 years’ experience providing medical nutrition therapy to English- and Spanish-speaking patients with a variety of nutrition concerns and chronic conditions (diabetes, heart disease, picky eating, busy lifestyle, weight gain/loss, etc.). A recent area of interest of mine is FERTILITY nutrition. In addition to my extensive clinical experience, I've served as a college faculty member, teaching college-level nutrition courses at 2 universities, have been a guest on several radio and television shows, and have been quoted in several online health publications. Despite my thorough knowledge of the science of nutrition, I have an out-of-control sweet tooth!

Approach to care

My approach to care is client-focused and non-judgmental. I advocate a step-by-step, goal-oriented approach to achieving nutritional wellness. My role in this process is to support you with technical expertise, warm compassion, and creative suggestions while facilitating the goal-setting process. I pay special attention to your food likes/dislikes as well as your current lifestyle and habits as I assist you in making appropriate, realistic, and attainable goals, aimed at long-term success. I understand that making eating/exercise/lifestyle changes is not always an easy process to undertake, but with the right help, positive changes are possible, and definitely worth the effort.

Your first session with Anne

Your first visit will be lots of ME learning about YOU! I'll start with "Tell me a little bit about how you ended up on my schedule today and what type of help you need." Among other topics, I'll ask about your medical history, exercise and/or physical activity, previous experience with dietitians or nutrition counseling, and specific questions or concerns you'd like addressed during our time together. You’ll likely leave with some nutrition-related goals to get you started, but more in-depth education will happen in subsequent visits. The more I know about you up front, the better my strategic plan for you will be. Every client is different so no "first visit" is exactly the same.
