About April
Hello! My name is April. I am a dietitian, certified personal trainer, certified LEAP therapist (Lifestyle Eating and Performance) wife, and mom to 3 kids and 2 dogs! My passion is helping people treat their disease, reduce symptoms, and learn to heal with food and intentional movement. I believe nutrition plays a vital role in the treatment and prevention of nearly every disease or diagnosis. I will help you learn how to fuel your body for the best energy possible, without sacrificing your favorite foods. I will help you set attainable goals, based on your lifestyle.
Approach to care
I use a food first approach and help my patients balance their nutrition by understanding macronutrients and micronutrients. You don't need to calorie count, but I will help you understand how to balance your nutrition by using different methods, depending on what fits your personality. That ranges from visualizing portion sizes, to using measuring cups, to recording foods in a meal tracker, or even a combination of all methods. I will help you create strategies that fit into your day, no matter how busy your schedule is.
Your first session with April
In our first session we will get to know each other. We will review your goals, your past struggles with sticking with an eating plan, review any lab work, discuss your current lifestyle, and talk about what your typical eating patterns currently are. This is a data gathering session, so the more detail you provide me, the more help I can provide to you.

I enjoy spending time with my family and value anytime I can get all my kids together. Having two college kids can make that hard! I enjoy exploring the outdoors, camping, hiking, having patio and dance parties with friends, and snuggling with my two cute pups. My husband and I are on a mission to visit as many National Parks in the US as we can!
