About April

I am registered dietitian with experience in both the inpatient and outpatient setting providing counseling to a variety of patients from tube feeding to weight loss and managing chronic medical conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. I have a passion for meeting people where they are at to create positive change for their personalized goals - whether that be a few pounds of weight loss or lowering an A1C. When I'm not working at Nourish, I'm a full time mom of three under 4 and working part-time at Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ, therefore I understand the difficulties of balancing nutrition with a busy schedule!

Approach to care

My approach to care is about accountability as well as meeting clients where they are. Life is not always a straight line and neither is nutrition or behavioral change; some weeks will be full of victories, where others will remain on course and at times even take steps back. I believe in making small changes that eventually compile and lead to long-term goals being achieved. It is important to listen to a patient's goals and custom tailor an approach that is achievable. Finally, it is important to heal our relationship with food and realize all foods can fit!

Your first session with April
