Patient reviews

  • April is fantastic in understanding your lifestyle, habits and crafting goals that are practical and sustainable. She also helps you in being accountable to your goals but at the same time being forgiving if you’re unable to work towards any of them. I learnt so much from her and I’ve made so many changes to my lifestyle that didn’t feel like a compromise but left me feeling great. Absolutely loved working with her.

About April

April graduated with her Master's Degree in Nutritional Sciences from Arizona State University where she was exposed to research in the vegetarian/vegan populations as well as sports nutrition fields. She later went on to work at Mayo Clinic Hospitals with exposure to a variety of medical states including but not limited to: diabetes, cardiovascular disease, oncology, bariatric surgery, solid organ transplant, and health/well-being/weight loss. She ultimately found her passion in counseling people in the community to help them achieve improvement in health outcomes for better quality of life through nutritional changes. As a busy mom of three aged 4 and under; April understands what it's like to balance life demands with eating balanced and she would love the opportunity to help you achieve your health goals.

Approach to care

April's approach to care is about empathy, understanding, and accountability. She finds most people know how to eat balanced and can benefit from additional nutrition education but creating a personalized plan that is sustainable for life long changes as well as being an accountability partner really helps patients achieve their goals. She believes in making small changes week by week so that nutrition is more approachable and can lead to long-term goals being achieved. It is important to meet people where they are and find small ways to achieve victories. Finally, it is important to heal our relationship with food and realize all foods can fit!
