About Ashlea

I grew up in a small rural town in Colorado, which shaped my appreciation for community, balance, and practical approaches to health. I live with Type 1 Diabetes, an experience that has given me a deep personal understanding of chronic condition management and the real-life challenges people face around food and health. Before entering nutrition care, I worked as a private chef, which strengthened my passion for cooking and creating realistic, enjoyable meals. Outside of work, I coach high school girls basketball and enjoy fishing, golfing, and spending time with my family. These experiences influence my approachable, grounded style and my belief that nutrition should support both health and quality of life.

Approach to care

My approach to nutrition care is individualized and client-centered. I begin by developing a clear understanding of each person’s lifestyle, health history, and relationship with food, while identifying barriers that may impact progress. Nutrition recommendations are tailored to the individual, recognizing that what works for one person may not be effective or sustainable for another. I emphasize practical problem-solving, flexibility, and realistic goal setting. Progress is supported by celebrating both small and meaningful milestones, helping clients build confidence in a supportive, non-judgmental environment where they feel comfortable and empowered.
