About Ashley
I graduated from Eastern Illinois University with my Bachelors in Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus on nutrition in 2008 and also graduated with my Masters in Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus in nutrition in 2009. I then completed a 7 month internship at HSHS Saint Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois. I have been a licensed, registered dietitian since 2010.
Approach to care
My approach to care is meeting the patient where they are in their journey by using motivational interviewing and setting SMART goals. I take a patient centered care approach in which I involve the patient in their healthcare decisions. I also believe in an interdisciplinary team approach. I feel meeting the patient where they are at is most important by using the Stages of Change model.
Your first session with Ashley
In your first session, you can expect to be asked what you want your health for and what that looks like for you as the patient, your motivation level to make lifestyle changes on a scale from 1-10, assessing your knowledge about nutrition, food recall and orientation to healthy eating.
