Patient reviews

  • It was a pleasure to work with Ashley the past 6 months. We set goals and created new habits and it wasn’t long before I started to see progress. Ashley was always willing to talk through different food trends and helped debunk silly misconceptions. She’s a great listener and always had good ideas for helping me work towards my goal.

  • Ashley shared new concepts to help me move from healthy weight loss to maintenance stage. She's always polite, on time, encouraging, and helpful with articles, tips, and between session message responses.

About Ashley

Hi! I'm Ashley, a Registered Dietitian with a master's degree in Nutritional Science. I started my career as a Mechanical Engineer, then took a sharp right turn into personal training which led me to my passion of nutrition and ultimately, the decision to go back to school in 2018. Since I started working with Nourish, I've worked with a variety of clients but focus primarily on healing disordered eating with an Intuitive Eating approach. I have extensive personal and professional experience with plant-based diets and also find joy in helping people managing diabetes, heart health, and gut health with a non-restrictive, weight-neutral approach.

Approach to care

My approach is always non-judgmental and weight neutral. Rather than saying "eat this, not that", I counsel on Intuitive Eating principles that help clients confidently make food choices that are both satisfying and aligned with their bodies' needs and their health goals. I understand that every person is unique and will always consider your lifestyle, preferences, and other external influences when it comes to choosing and preparing foods. I use behavior change science to help you build new healthy habits and break habits that aren't serving you so that when we conclude our work together, you can sustain what you've learned long-term.

Your first session with Ashley

Our first session is about getting to know each other and establishing trust because food is very personal. I want to know what your daily life looks like. I want to hear about your health journey so far, whether it's just the beginning or you're a few decades in and feeling like nothing has worked for you. We will dive into what your longer-term goals are and what's driving you to meet those goals. We'll begin to break these long-term goals down into smaller steps and create an actionable plan that will serve as an outline for future sessions. If time permits, we may be able to start some basic nutrition education. We don't always accomplish much in the first session, but getting to know you on this level is crucial to being able to assist you in making changes. And you'll always leave the first session with at least one small actionable step you can start taking that week.
