About Ashton
Nutrition and health have always been an interest of mine, so I dove into the field of dietetics. I earned a BS in Dietetics from James Madison University. As an RDN with eight years working in community health programs at the Florida and Virginia Departments of Health, I bring practical, science-based support to everyday life. Outside of the clinic I love cooking, swimming, running, skiing, and hosting friends, and at home I'm often playing with my dogs or spending time with my husband. I'm interested in helping you meet your goals, one sustainable step at a time!
Approach to care
Evidence and empathy guide how I work. I use current research to build clear, actionable steps we'll test together, while keeping conversations warm and nonjudgmental. I practice from a weight-neutrality perspective, focusing on behaviors and well-being rather than weight, and I take a holistic view that includes sleep, stress, movement, and your relationship with food. I also prioritize teaching skills and troubleshooting practical barriers, so changes stick long term.
Your first session with Ashton
During that initial visit we'll take time to review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you have, and to really explore your relationship with food in a low-pressure, judgment-free conversation. We'll establish a few short-term goals together and think of practical steps you can try right away. You don't need to have all the answers, we'll work collaboratively and adjust the plan so it fits your life and feels sustainable.
