About Asma
I’m Asma, a bilingual Registered Dietitian and certified health coach with a Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. Based in Northern Virginia, I bring 5+ years of experience supporting clients with IBS, SIBO, H. pylori, PCOS, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and more. My specialty is digestive health, fueled by both clinical expertise and personal healing from gut issues, hormonal imbalances, and post-pregnancy recovery. I’ve worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing medical nutrition therapy for kidney disease, post-surgical care, medication side effects, and specialty diets. I'm trained in both conventional and functional testing, including GI-MAP, DUTCH, and standard labs. I take a root-cause approach that blends science-backed nutrition with holistic care. I prioritize listening first, so your plan reflects your life and values—not just your symptoms.
Approach to care
My counseling style is supportive, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity and compassion. I aim to create a safe, judgment-free space where we can explore your health from all angles—physical, emotional, spiritual, and lifestyle-related. Unlike more prescriptive or one-size-fits-all approaches, I help you connect the dots between symptoms, habits, and root causes, empowering you to make meaningful, lasting changes. Together, we’ll work toward progress, not perfection—and I’ll be with you every step of the way.
Your first session with Asma
In our first session, we’ll focus on a comprehensive intake to understand your health history, current symptoms, and any challenges you're facing. I’ll help connect the dots between your symptoms to investigate what may be contributing to your health concerns, and together, we’ll begin to create an overall plan for your wellness journey. Our goal is to break down your plan into a few manageable, actionable steps that feel doable, so you don’t feel overwhelmed. This session is all about getting to the heart of the issue, so we can move forward with clarity and a realistic approach to your wellness goals.
