About Avalon
Nutrition has been my compass for the last 14 years, shaping how I listen, problem-solve, and teach. I earned a Doctor of Clinical Nutrition at the University of North Florida, an MS in Nutrition from Texas Woman's University, and a BS from Illinois State University. As an RDN and LDN with additional CSG credentialing, I've cared for patients across clinical hospital settings, long term care, private practice, corporate wellness, and research. When I'm not at work I practice yin yoga, experiment in the kitchen, and train in martial arts, all of which keep my curiosity and calm at the center of care.
Approach to care
Evidence guides how I translate research into clear, usable steps, and I focus on the whole person, not just numbers. Working from a Health At Every Size lens means we'll prioritize behaviors, wellbeing, and sustainable habits rather than weight-focused rules. I'm warm and judgment-free while also direct and action-oriented, so together we'll set practical goals, build skills, and learn the why behind each change. My aim is to empower you with knowledge and tools that fit your life, promoting long-term, realistic progress.
Your first session with Avalon
Expect a relaxed, thorough conversation where we review your medical history and any lab work or biometrics you bring. We'll take a deep look at your relationship with food, what has felt supportive, and what has felt harder. You don't need to have everything figured out beforehand. Together we'll translate what we learn into one or two short-term goals you feel ready to try, so you leave with clarity and a doable next step.
