About Barbara
Hi, I’m Barbara Baron, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 25 years of experience helping women and families improve their health through evidence-based nutrition that fits real life. Known as The Family Meals Dietitian®, I believe good health is built through building everyday eating habits and enjoying food with family and friends. Inspired by my Italian American roots and the Mediterranean lifestyle, my work emphasizes mindful eating, variety, balance, and flexibility. I work especially well with women seeking support for heart health, strong bones, metabolic health, steady energy, and less stress around food. I’m an advisory member of the New Jersey Interagency Osteoporosis Council, a contributing author to Called to Lead: Success Strategies for Women, and a trusted speaker and podcast guest known for my clear, realistic strategies and judgment-free approach to wellness.
Approach to care
How about this? My approach is supportive, practical, and focused on progress over perfection. I help clients build consistent yet flexible eating habits that support their health while honoring their food preferences, culture, and lifestyle. My work is grounded in balanced eating principles that emphasize moderation without deprivation, enjoying a variety of foods to support nutrition and taste, plus a plan that feels doable. To make the most of our time together, clients are encouraged to bring a 3-day food journal. This allows us to quickly identify strengths, areas for support, and clear, realistic next steps you can begin using right away—with confidence.
Your first session with Barbara
Your first session is welcoming, focused, and action-oriented. We’ll review your health history, discuss your goals, and look at your food journal to understand your current eating patterns. Together, we’ll identify a few meaningful changes that can make the biggest impact for you right now. You can expect clear guidance, practical strategies, and a judgment-free space—so you leave feeling informed, supported, and confident about your next steps.
