About Barbara

I'm Barbara J. Chin, MS, RD, CDN, CPT. I've been working as a Registered Dietitian since 2012, with focuses on post-surgical care, plant-based eating, weight management, sports nutrition, and diabetes care. I currently work as an inpatient dietitian in an orthopedic hospital. I was a competitive gymnast when I was younger and worked as a personal trainer for many years before getting my master's degree in Nutrition, and during that time, I learned a lot about how food impacts sports and fitness performance as well as general health. In my adult years, I've been very active in aerial circus arts and taught for many years, during which time I also helped students with their nutritional questions to improve their progress and any health issues they might have had.

Approach to care

My approach begins with getting to know you as a person, your strengths and areas for improvement, and meeting you where you are. You will never be expected to eat foods you don't like or entirely give up foods you enjoy! I don't believe drastic changes to your food habits are sustainable, so we will work together to find small changes that you are comfortable with.

Your first session with Barbara

We will begin with understanding your goals and what obstacles you may have faced so far in achieving them. We'll discuss your health history, discuss your current food habits, and look for possible areas of improvement. We'll work together on a plan with specific changes you are comfortable making.
