About Barbara
For 20 years I have worked as a registered and licensed dietitian, blending clinical, private practice, and academic experience to help people find realistic ways to eat well. I earned my MS in Human Nutrition from Eastern Michigan University and have supported patients in hospitals, private practice, research settings, and programs that address eating disorders and bariatric care. At home I recharge by spending time with family, which keeps my goals practical and grounded. I'm passionate about partnering with you on a sustainable nutrition lifestyle that lets you enjoy favorite foods while making progress toward your health goals.
Approach to care
Evidence guides what I recommend, and compassion guides how we put it into practice. I bring science-forward strategies while honoring the whole person, focusing on behaviors, wellbeing, and daily routines rather than a number on the scale. Together we'll translate research into clear, actionable steps you can sustain, learning why changes work so you can make informed choices. I work from a Health At Every Size, weight-neutral perspective, offering a judgment-free space where we set realistic goals and adapt plans as life changes.
Your first session with Barbara
We'll spend our first visit getting to know your medical history so I can see the full picture of your health. We'll also take a deep dive into your relationship with food, exploring patterns, priorities, and what you most want to change or preserve. You don't need to have it all figured out; this is a low-pressure, nonjudgmental conversation where you'll be heard. By the end we'll agree on one or two short-term, attainable goals so you leave with clarity and a concrete next step toward a sustainable nutrition lifestyle.
